Where are they Now? Guitarist Warren DeMartini
I'm going to be doing a series of these pages with the topic of Where are they Now Guitarist...
One of the very first guitar players that comes to my mind is Warren DeMartini. Does that name ring a bell to any of you out there in guitarland? Yes, that's correct... guitarist for the Glam Band RATT
Out of the Cellar was the breakthrough album by glam metal band Ratt, released in 1984. It was produced by Beau Hill. Featuring their best-known hit, "Round and Round", and other hits such as "Wanted Man", "Back for More", "I'm Insane", and "Lack of Communication". Out of the Cellar was a spectacular popular success, through critical praise was limited. The band's pop sensibilities were apparent, but many felt that there was little more to Ratt's sound than catchy choruses. Fans not only consider this to be the best material Ratt have done to this day, but it is also considered a glam metal classic. It is an RIAA certified Triple Platinum album.
Ratt - Wanted Man
So... where's ol' Warren these days?
Despite Pearcy's exit of the band, Ratt has continued to carry on with new members Jizzy Pearl (former Love/Hate) on vocals, John Corabi (former Mötley Crüe) on guitar, and bassist Robbie Crane joining original members DeMartini and Blotzer. In the summer of 2001, long M.I.A. Ratt guitarist Robbin Crosby disclosed to the public that he was battling AIDS, and Croucier soon began organizing a benefit album for his former bandmate. After struggling for years with the resulting health problems, Crosby died in Los Angeles in June 2002. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine & Greg Prato, All Music Guide
