Carl Verheyen CD Review - “Remember the Alamo” - Well, well... What is this ??? Oh yeah, it’s Carl Verheyen’s NEW CD ‘Trading 8’s’... Man, I’ve been waiting for this CD to arrive in the mail w/ much eagerness... My anticipation has been building for a short while now, and here it is in my hands. My ears have been watering for some time now to hear Mr. Verheyen’s tantalizing tones, catchy rhythmic riffs, and tasty licks. And, since radio has forgotten what REAL music is, “this CD is a real treat”. As w/ Carl’s earlier outings, I know that I will be getting a quality production w/ great music on it every time.... Carl Verheyen CD Review Carl Verheyen - Forward Motion: Advancing on the Electric Guitar Souls of We featuring George Lynch - Review of: Let the Truth be Known Souls of We featuring George Lynch.I was lucky enough to be able to snap one of the pre-Shrapnel releases of this CD up from the Mob Shop before they were all gone. Mine features artwork of Robert Jonson with wings on the cover. Souls of We is really a departure from the standard Lynch guitar virtuoso thing we are used to hearing. Here we find Lynch in more of a band setting with the songs themselves taking the spotlight, more on this later. Let the Truth be Know is not any of the “Lynch’s” we have heard from the past, rather it is yet another turn of the page in what this artist has to offer. I think his collaboration with London LeGrand and the other artist may have had a lot to do with how this CD sounds. Souls of We Review George Lynch, Souls of we, Hollywood, 2009 Ace Guitarist Rob Metz - Awhile back when I first started my guitar related website Guitarz Forever.com, I went through MySpace looking for guitar guides for my site. Guitar playing is like a journey and I thought calling my writers / teachers ‘Guitar Guides’ would be neat. Anyway, I came across Rob Metz ‘s MySpace homepage and was really taken back by his awesome sound and breathtaking playing... So, I reached out to him... I’m sitting here surfin’ the net while listening to Award Winning Jazz Guitarist Vernon Neilly’s New Release a Tribute To Stevie Wonder. After the very first song, I’m here thinkin’ to myself that god definitely has a hand in dropping great albums into my lap to review. Why do I say this you ask? Because I have been a big Stevie Wonder Fan since I was a young teen. I remember my youth... going to the beach with my little hand-held radio with the one earpiece listening to his music on the radio back ’76 – ’77 a whole lot.... Tribute to Stevie Wonder JP Cervoni Blues and Beyond Artist - JP Cervoni understands the meaning playing for the song. His moniker says it all... JP takes blues guitar playing to an all new level with his wide ranging styles of writing and his comfortable approach to all. This CD blankets the wide spectrum of the blues... From down home blues to Motown; from instrumental rock guitar, on to smooth jazz and a few contemporary soundz ta boot. JP has got it all and doesn’t hesitate to pull out all the stops on this all-star cast blues-rock album. And, talk about class... You should see the other high profile artist he has playing on it. It’s like a celebrity showcase of awesome musician’s... Folks like; Buddy Miles, Simon Phillips,Tony Brock, Carl Verheyen, Scott Henderson, Michael Thompson, Vinnie Colaiuta... I mean, imagine just getting to rub elbows with those exciting, high-profile musician should tell you what kind of album you are in for and the caliber of musicianship JP Cervoni brings to the table/stage... The Screamin Lords Long Live Me CD Review - This debut CD, Long Live Me, came together with an extremely talented core band and impressive selection of guest artists, which includes guitarists George Lynch (Lynch Mob, Dokken), Chris Poland (OHM, Megadeth), Gus G. Wow! From the first note to the last note I was totally in guitar heaven. The songs arrangements twist and turn, pull you from left to right, and then rollercoaster your mind (and yo ass) to highs and lows over again, and again, and again. His lead guitar work is dazzling, soulful, with great hooks and with melodic and memorial rhythmic riffs. Simply said, Prashant Aswani is one of the hottest independent guitarists out there today...
