My sister Robin came in from Florida a short while back and she brought her acoustic guitar along. She said flying into Austin and walking around the airport with her guitar felt really cool. She just started playing a year ago. She said she saw several others with their guitarz.
Well... after some sleep from jetlag we went to my music room / study and got right to it. When she pulled her guitar out of her case, I was in awe. Wow! A Martin D-15 Limited Addition Acoustic Guitar. She let me play on it the whole weekend. However, I did give it back for her to do some recording with it tho'. Great overall guitar tone with some killer action. I played some Gatemouth style finger-picking delta blues on it and was just floored at the way my fingers felt bending those strings on that Indian rosewood fingerboard. Partial chord playing on this guitar are just delightful. The strings ring out even when you shimmy / virbrato the chords. The neck was like satin.
With the simply decorated Martin D15, Martin has reintroduced the Mahogany-top acoustic that was so popular in the 1940's (currently their most affordable guitar). The D15’s solid, genuine Mahogany construction produces exeptional tone.

About the 15 Series
Martin's 15 Series allows you to satisfy your desire for a more easily affordable all solid wood Martin guitar - and they offer these guitars to you in all shapes and sizes.
These instruments feature richly stained solid Mahogany top, back, and sides to give it the distinctive look along with the recognizable Martin sound - features that mark it one of Martin’s most attractive values.
Standard features for the 15 Series generally include solid Mahogany top, back and sides, herringbone decal rosette, satin finish, patented neck mortise, and "A-frame" X-bracing which enhances the rich, bright sound inherent in mahogany.
It is no secret why the DM sound comes through clean and clear. East Indian Rosewood makes up the bridge and fretboard, to give the guitar a great look as well as sound. And the satin finish certainly doesn't diminish the looks!
