Marco Mendoza Album Review

Marco Mendoza's "Live for Tomorrow" came to me in the mail today and I've been listening to it since it got here. It's so good that it inspired me to put my musical thoughts down as quickly as possible. It's one of those things were I wanted to get my first impressions down this time. I usually listen to an album for several days before coming to any conclusions and deciding if I'm going to review it or not. I like to let each CD I review become like a warm blanket before giving my final say. However, this compilation of exciting pop to hard rock tunes has me sitting hear anxiously trying to get my thoughts down before they become fleeting...

Marco Mendoza needs no introduction...He is One of the hardest working, most popular bass players and background vocalists in the Hard Rock Music Scene today having played with such high-profile live bands as Whitesnake, Thin Lizzy, Dolores O' Riordan of the Cranberries, Blue Murder, Ted Nugent, Soul Sirkus (Neil Schon) and Many more. "Live for Tomorrow" is Marco's Debut Solo Album where he offers the World his thunderstruck Songwriting, Masterful Bass Playing, and a vocal style that is a blend between David Coverdale and Paul Rodgers' expressive Vocal  talents.

The Album was produced, recorded; and written together w/ Richie Kotzen, another very talent musician and lead guitarist from bands like Poison and Mr. Big and collaborator on many top-selling albums out there today.   Maestro Mendoza's Album is a true and straight forward Pop Rock CD w/Hints of Bad Company, Doobie Brothers, Whitesnake, 38 Special, Journey, Toto, and rock music that is now legendary today. The music is very melodic and has a bluesy side to it too. The Album offers a wide range of special guests including Steve Lukather of Toto, Ted Nugent, Doug Aldrich and Tommy Aldridge of Whitesnake, Brian Tichy (Pride and Glory) and of course Kotzen Himself on Guitar and Duet on Lead Vocals on "I Want You".

Overall this album is what I strive to listen for and get my hands on... This music is true and hasn't been over-produced with the "Big Record Company Song Doctors". Each song on this CD is strong and can "stand up and take notice” on its own. You will find on the very first listen that the tunes are tight, upbeat, and the musicianship is the best that Los Angeles can offer !!!

If you like other rock artists and bands from the late 70s, 80's, and on thru till today like --  John Mayer, Arc Angels, Whitesnake, Storyville, Ted Nugent, Geno Vannelli, Toto, Doyle Bramhall II, Tommy Shaw, Ian Moore, Eric Clapton and bands of this nature, then please go get this Album today. LOOK OUT FOR THE BOYZ FROM CALI...

Favorite Songs : "Not for Me" " Live for Tomorrow"  "Look Out"  "Still in Me" "Dance with Me"   and the Best for Last "Let the Sun Shine" -- I'm a sucker pop rock and this cut has all those feel good high-energy qualities to it.
