"The sounds this guitar produces are amazing. Yes, it really does sound like a Les Paul and a Stratcaster with the flip of a switch; the Les Paul sustains and Strat twangs. The hollow- bodies sound hollow and Rickenbackers ring."
Variax combines Line 6 s modeling technology with an invitingly playable, solidbody guitar that reproduces classic 6- and 12-string electrics and acoustics plus other fretted instruments such as a resonator, banjo, and electric sitar. It detects string vibrations with a hexaphonic pickup, converts signals to digital, processes them using algorithms, then reconverts them to analog to be sent to a guitar amp. Single-coil sounds are noise-free, acoustic instrument sounds can be played at high volume without feedback, and a variety of classic guitar tones are available at the flick of a switch. The guitar features a contoured alder body, maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, 22 medium frets, and a 25-1/2" scale length. Powered by onboard batteries or footswitch.
