"Jay Jesse Johnson"... I like the way the name just rolls off my tongue. "JJJ" is how they write it.
As I sit here listening to the first tune "Hell Train", it doesn't take me long to realize that I've gotten a hold of a live wire here and Jay is the transformer turning pure blues rock energy into a million watts of power, all the while lighting up every big city, small town and cozy hamlet along the way as he tours the free world and beyond.
If you like guitar legends ala Gary Moore. Robin Trower or Pat Travers, then you will appreciate Johnson's stellar recordings and production of "Run with the Wolf". And let's not forget about Jay's kick-butt guitar prowess. And, he can definitely take the blues to the Joe Satriani, Steve Vai level to boot. Jay Jesse Johnson (JJJ) was born in rural Indiana and started playing guitar at the age of ten. Influenced by American blues and rock n' roll greats. Johnson has worked in recording studios from Nashville to New York City and has been blowing guitar lovers away in venues throughout North America for over 30 years, during which time Johnson has shared the stage with Aerosmith, Johnny Winter, Robin Trower, Rick Derringer, Black Sabbath, Pat Travers, Judas Priest, and Jefferson Starship, to name a few.
