Epiphone LP Junior Special Electric Guitar

"BOY! OH! BOY-EEEE! What can I say about this cool guitar...." My good friend Adrian bought this guitar for under $100.00 smack-a-ruski's at the Guitar Center here in Austin, Texas. He brought it over straight from the store to my home studio to do some recording. He broke it out for me to look at and play and I was like "Wow!" It was a beautiful black guitar. We both had a laugh because he just bought it on a whim... and because it just looked cool. So we put on some new DR Black Beauties guitar strings, strung 'er up right there and then, plugged into a Marshall Valvestate - vs100 and gave 'er a go. I had this thing sounding like a clean Fender one minute and then a warm Les Paul the next... One Pick-up, One Volume Knob, One Tone Knob and that's it! I couldn't believe what I was hearing. When Adrian picked it up, he played some "Good Bad and the Ugly" guitar and had it sounding like a Tele. "No Kiddin'"... Then I put it through my ZOOM GFX-707 Expression Pedal and I was just floored. Zakk Wylde soundz (sqeelz) one minute, and then clean Dickey Betts' type runs the next. This guitar is great for the studio "extra". Now, as for staying in tune... yes, it stayed in tune just fine. However, I had to adjust the "b" string and high "e" string to open chordz and then adjust for barr chordz. This is not good if you change keys a lot. But I can over look that for the studio. The neck feels so silky too! Of course the guitar strings were new. I give this guitar 2 thumbz up because you can't go wrong when you buy a brand name like "Gibson Epihone" for under a hundred bucks... Stay away from the e-bay no name guitarz!
