Guitar For Beginners - Understand the guitar fretboard!
My name is Carlos Lichman and today I'm going to tell you the secret to master and understand the fretboard. We follow the rule of chromatic scale. We can see it in four different ways.
First: # (Sharp)
C C# D D# E F F# G G# A A# B
Second: b (Flat)
C Db D Eb E F Gb G Ab A Bb B
Third: ## (Double Sharp)
C C# C## (you replace D for C##, and you can do it with all note as well)
Fourth: bb (Double Flat)
Dbb Db D (you replace C for Dbb, and you can do it with all note as well)
Let's see the fretboard using sharps (#)
Ok, Now you know how to see the fretboard. However, to master each note in different place you must "break" the fretboard in small pieces as I did. During a whole week study only the first 5 frets and memorize them. In the second week, work on the frets 6 to 10. In the third week, work on open string to 10 and so on.
