I just got the new debut album from Le Reverie called "Dark Symphony" and let me tell ya, these talented musicians have really put together a fine collaboration of impressive, Goth prog-metal dreamscape music...
As I sit here listening to the first few tracks, I'm checking out the CD's simple eco-friendly packaging and I can't help but admire the Album's cover art. The somber stone cold picture perfectly reflects the mystic grey symphonic sounds you will be hearing.
Le Reverie is a four-piece band from LA. w/ angelic-vocalist Allie Jorgen at the helm. If you like orchestrated rock, then I know this band will push all those avant-garde buttons too... There are 12 Song on this album and each one has been meticulously recorded. With Jeff Mallow (also the band's guitar player) at the rudder steering these recording sessions, I think Le Reverie made a fine choice. Why you ask? Well first off, the music jumps off the CD at you and sounds huge and all encompassing to the ears. Furthermore, Mr. Mallow knows how to capture the essence of Le Reverie’s sound.
As I listen to the music, I get this feeling I'm on a sonic caravan with an aural backdrop of nebulous and shadowy landscapes leading you to the soft swaying fields of nirvana. The musicianship is top-notch. If you are into progressive metal bands like classic Queensryche to today's dynamic bands ala Evanescence, then you have to look no further. Each song on this album, "EPIC" !!!
Parting Shot Across the Bow: Are you ready to take a symphonic journey? If so, there is no looking back. If you do, you'll turn into a pillar of salt. This is a must have in your prog-metal music collection. So get your copy today...
