Guardians of Time are:
Paul Olsen - guitar
Jonkis - Bass
Anders Svendsrud Danielsen - guitar
Bernt Fjellestad - Vocal
Guardians of Time was formed in 1997 when a handful of musicians drinking beer at the local metal pub came up with the idea to form a band. Their first demo landed them a record deal, and the debut album “Edge of Tomorrow” was released in 2001. The album received great reviews and the band made loyal fans all over the world. Both a Brazilian- and a German fan site were made by devoted fans. The band did shows all over Norway and played almost every metal festival in the country.
Scott - Does your band tour?
Paul - Yes, we do. We have toured quite a bit in Europe the last 5-6 years. This summer we have played Norway Rock Festival, Big Gun Festival in Moscow and Bloodstock Open Air in the U.K. Coming up, we have a couple of festivals in Norway.
Scott - Where do you all hail from? Are there any good music venues in your area that you play live?
Paul - We are based in a fairly small city, so locally there isn't too many good venues. But we usually try to play once a year in our home town. That being said there, there is a really good metal scene here, with bands like Green Carnation, In the Woods..., Trail of Tears and Blood Red Throne. A lot of the metal bands in town reherse in the same building. We used to have Carpathian Forest rehersing right next door to us.
Scott - Who have been your main influences on your career to date?
Paul - All the major metal bands from when we grew up in the 80s! Iron Maiden, Queensryche, AC/DC, Judas Priest, Twisted Sister, Helloween, Guns'n'Roses, WASP, Dio, Black Sabbath, to name a few.
Scott - What were your favorite recording artists and or bands as a teenager?
Paul - The same bands as above I guess ;)
Scott - Do you have any current music that you are promoting?
Paul - Our latest album is "Tearing up the World". Check it out digitally or order it from us on vinyl or CD!
After extensive touring, mainly in eastern Europe, in 2013. Guardians of Time once again began working on a new album. The bands 4th studio album "Rage and Fire" was released in 2015. The album was mixed in Studio Fredman by the legendary Fredrik Nordström. This was the bands fastest and most intense album to date, and the album was released to amazing critics!
On October 19th. 2018 the bands fifth album "Tearing up the World" was released on "ROAR - Rock of Angels Records"! Once again mixed by Studio Fredman. The album features guest performances by no other than Abbath and Tim "Ripper" Owens!
Scott - I also don't want to forget this... Tell us about any other things you may be in involved in or any special interest besides music that is close to the band’s heart?
Paul - Well, that is a handfull! We are different individuals with different kind of passions. Comics, sci-fi, gaming, drawing, tanks, history, quantum physics.....and of course everything metal related!
Scott - I would like to thank you for your time and candor with our loyal readers and keep on fighting the good fight to bring us some awesome music.
Paul - Thank you Scott! We will keep going doing what we do best; writing and performing kick ass heavy fucking metal!!!
